Cancellation Policy
Please understand that this industry has a very limited performance window. Most everyone wants some time between 11am and 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. As such, these prime time slots are highly in demand and cannot be casually dismissed. Therefore, in the event of Cancellation, the client must give written notice of cancellation a minimum of seven (7) days prior to their booking. If the notice of cancellation is given less than seven (7) days but more than three (3) days prior to the booking, the client shall be required to pay fifty percent (50%) of the owed amount. If the event is cancelled less than three (3) days prior to the booking, or if the client fails to give notice of cancellation, then the client shall be responsible for the full amount due. In the event that a booking needs to be rescheduled due to a last minute emergency, then the event will be rescheduled to an available time slot without penalty to the client. Notice of cancellation must be made in writing and emailed to [email protected]
How early do I need to book a show?
Certain times of year fill up more quickly than others. Summer time and December week-ends fill up pretty early. To increase your odds of getting the time slot you want, we recommend you try to book as soon as possible or at least 2 weeks in advance. 4 to 6 weeks is best! If your party is just around the corner, give us a shout anyways. Technically, you can book us just hours few hours before your event, if we're available; but odds are we won't be. Having said that, we have plenty of entertainers on staff so we just might accommodate you after all.
How much are your services?
Service fees vary depending on what you get. Instead of trying to confuse you here with all sorts of quotes, just check out the bottom print of each service page on this website. Prices are listed right there.
Do you offer discounts if we bundle assorted services?
ABSOLUTELY! We're happy to give a discount for multiple services. Of course, the discounts vary depending on what those services are. Some services can be performed by the same artist while others require two different artists. That means not all discount rates are necessarily the same as we may have to pay multiple staff. To get a bundles quote, just give us a call or email us.
What if I want to book your services for longer than the set durations?
Nothing makes us feel more wanted than being asked to stay longer. Our moms would be so proud of us. We can definitely do that for you as well, as long as it is pre-booked. For an extension quote, give us a call or email us.
When is the best time to have you perform during the party?
It's your party so you can plan it any way you want. However, we do recommend that you offer the entertainment before cake and presents. Think about it, once the cake is eaten, the sugar rush kicks in. Try asking a dozen, sugar-crazed kids to sit and watch a show! Also, once the presents are opened, kids want to play with them. Having a child open a gift and then saying "You can't play with it yet" is a terrible way to tease a child.
Do you perform outside of Ottawa?
Absolutely! While the city of Ottawa is our home turf, we do cover the surrounding areas of Eastern Ontario & Western Quebec. A travel surcharge may apply depending on your location.
Do you offer services in french?
We do offer french services for the most part. We have a number of performers on staff, but not all of them are fluent in french. Please ask when you call and we'll let you know if a french performer is available. Please note that for the moment, we do not have any french performers available for the puppet shows.
How do we handle payment?
Payment can be made by cash or cheque or e-transfer (or gold bricks) and is payable at the end of the performance. Lucky you! You get to see the show before paying. Most theatres won't let you do that. See how nice we are :)
Are there taxes?
Yes. We'd love to say no, but the government just won't let us. Ontario Harmonized Sales Taxes (HST) is applicable at a rate of 13%. Hmmm...We wonder if the government picked 13 because it's a scary number?
Do I need to make a deposit?
No deposit required. You just pay in full when the show is over :)
How many kids can I have at the party?
You can have as many kids as you want, but do you really want 63 hyperactive kids running around your house and jumping on your living room furniture? The truth is that, while there is no technical limit on how many children you can have at your party, some services can only work at a certain speed. Balloon Twisting and Face Painting can only produce so much per hour. That's why we've set a limit of 15 kids for those two services. If you have more than 15 kids it's no problem; we just have to stay longer to make sure everyone is covered. Call us or email us so we can discuss how long of an extension you need and the costs associated with it.
Are there age restrictions?
While there are no official age restrictions, not all services are appropriate for all ages. Let's face it, young toddlers don't have the cognitive development to understand magic. They just wouldn't get it. That's why we recommend limiting magic shows to the 7 and up category. Will we make an exception if there are a few younger kids present? Of course we will. No worries. We're just trying to be practical. If the core group is much younger, you may want to consider a more age appropriate alternative. Balloons, Face Painting and puppet shows are excellent for younger children. Super Hero Parties are great for kids aged 3 to 7.
Are you insured?
Absolutely! We take our business very seriously and are covered for a blanket $2,000,000.00 liability. On that note, we'd rather play safe and not have to use it. Our safety record stands for itself: 23 years in the business and not a single accident!
